Anjali Sharma was the lead litigant of Sharma v Environment Minister, a class action legal case which, in 2021, successfully established that the environment minister owes all young people a duty of care to protect them from the impacts of climate change. Although this duty was overturned on appeal, Anjali is now campaigning for the Duty of Care bill, legislation that is currently before the Senate and seeks to establish this duty in law through Parliament.
