Trump remains a rich (albeit not as rich as he pretends to be) man in the US, so his chances of actually suffering physical punishment (vs. dipping into the petty cash drawer to pay a fine) for any crimes he may have committed are low. It's much more likely that his various appeals will be cancelled following his death from old age.

It’s impossible, on many levels, to have any sympathy for the investors in Trump’s latest scam.
The Rubes who probably also purchase his NFTs and attended his ‘University’, presumably also buying into his grievance politics and crass personality cult. The Grifters who are looking to curry favour on the premise Muricah retains its mind-warping stupidity and re-elect him, permitting them to ride on his coat tails as Grifter-in-Chief. The finance speculators who, as always, are looking for a quick buck and damn the consequences.
OK, it IS possible to have a modicum of sympathy for an overlooked demographic cohort who have been lied to, fleeced by the elites and used as a dumping ground for opioids, alcohol and military service. Here the real crime though is not Trump’s, but the fact that the Democrats deserted them in favour of bailing out the criminal bankers and cosying up to the adolescent Utopianism of Silicon Valley that turns out to be simply neo-Nietzschian. Trump just read the room with his greedy little eyes and figured out what they wanted was a rolling Magical-thinking WWE fake dramafest with Nuremberg overtones.
